Week 7: Using Instagram

This week we focused on Instagram. Instagram is a great platform to promote your business in a visual way. Some people would say that "a picture is worth a thousand words" and I could agree with that statement. Using an image or short video is an excellent way to attract potential customers because it shows a sample of the business's personality. Making the content visual also relieves the headache of trying to come up with a clever post. Creating an Instagram account is important because it helps you establish who you are as a company and what they stand for.

Businesses use Instagram because it is a great way to reach audiences at a faster rate than their own business website. The big thing with any form of social media is staying consistent with posting content. Without content on platforms such as Instagram, the less likely businesses will attract new customers and promote their business effectively.

      Email newsletters are an effective tool to share business news with your clients. I believe newsletters should be sent out at least once a month, although I fear that may not be enough. Once I start to fully understand what my community wants to see, I might increase my email activity to twice a month (depending on the amount of news needed to be shared). Week 1: Why I chose my theme

     I chose my theme because I really enjoy the color scheme of blues and purples. I figured this would work best because this is the color scheme that I use on my Twitch channel. I really liked how simple the layout looked! I also found a space image in the settings section that also drew me in. Space has always been an interest of mine but I find myself appreciating the aesthetic of images like this (my mouse pad has a very similar image as this one).
